Title: Re: Shaun Alexander remembers his five-TD game Post by: Bandit on June 16, 2012, 07:12:06 PM My favorite will be against LSU in 1996 (as the 3rd string RB). A friend of mine went to church with Shaun in T-town and said he told him that he didn't think he would play and stayed up until 3am playing Bill Walsh College football.

LOL--Bama starts off with 7:30 drive for TD. A couple BYU plays and Bama ball again-- TD. How demoralizing is that!it's a year after not winning a home game at BDS to #37 and the new "Air Bama" vs. BYG .. the game in it's entirety http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9iE2KdXxhjg Title: Re: Shaun Alexander remembers his five-TD game Post by: XBAMA on June 17, 2012, 08:03:13 AM it's fun to go back and watch the old games and see the
things we forgot about over the years 8) Title: Re: Shaun Alexander remembers his five-TD game Post by: Catch Prothro on June 18, 2012, 09:16:19 AM #37 was one of the all time great RBs at Alabama. I remember the LSU game in 96, and wondered why it was 2 more years before we saw him start. When he finally got his chance, he was a game changer. Great blocking by the OL too, especially CS.
Title: Re: Shaun Alexander remembers his five-TD game Post by: pmull on June 18, 2012, 10:55:24 AM Shaun Alexander is one of my all time favorite players. He was a sure 1st round draft pick after his junior year but he came back for his senior. He said he enjoyed his college experience too much to miss his senior year so he came back. That was one of the most unselfish things I have seen a player do.

He also played very well in the NFL with the Seahawks before suffering the injury that shortened his career. He will always be one of my favorites. He was definitely fun to watch.
Title: Re: Shaun Alexander remembers his five-TD game Post by: pmull on June 20, 2012, 09:35:13 AM I bet Shaun, being the humble guy he is, would be quick you to tell you Chris Samuels opened up some huge holes for him to run through.
