Title: Dunne Earns 100th Career Win; Softball Sweeps Arkansas with 9-0 Victory Post by: pmull on March 27, 2011, 04:06:38 PM TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Behind the 100th career victory of senior Kelsi Dunne, the No. 1 ranked Alabama softball team earned a 9-0 victory over Arkansas, Sunday afternoon at Rhoads Stadium. With the win, the Crimson Tide earn the series sweep and improve to 33-2 overall and 9-1 in Southeastern Conference play.
"With all the games we have been playing it can be really nerve racking," Alabama head coach Patrick Murphy said. "We have done a great job thus far in not losing our concentration and focus. We need to keep our drive and stay in it mentally as we go forward." Dunne tossed four innings, scattered three hits and did not allow a run while striking out seven and walking none. Freshman Jackie Traina came in to pitch the final inning and allowed one hit while striking out two batters. Dunne grabs her 16th win of the season, and only trails Shelly Laird in career total wins. Laird holds the record for Alabama with 115 career victories. Sophomore Kayla Braud paced the Tide at the plate with a pair of hits and two runs scored. Junior Amanda Locke drove in a pair and hit her third home run in the series to lead the power surge for Alabama. http://www.rolltide.com/sports/w-softbl/recaps/032711aaa.html Title: Re: Dunne Earns 100th Career Win; Softball Sweeps Arkansas with 9-0 Victory Post by: ricky023 on March 27, 2011, 04:29:39 PM Great job.
