Alabama coach Nick Saban says he fully supports a new rule to restrict the amount of contact young players have during football practice, according to a story on ESPN.com.

The announcement ... was made last week and is aimed at limiting full speed head-on blocking and tackling drills.

Saban was quoted in the ESPN story as saying, "At our level, we try to limit exposure to contact as much as possible because we want our players healthy for the game. We've got to get young people to play the game in a safe way. You've got to start somewhere, right?" .......
