Title: College World Series News
Post by: Catch Prothro on June 21, 2012, 11:16:51 PM
South Carolina beat Arkansas tonight, 2-0.  Friday night is the elimination game, with the winner to play Arizona in the finals.  Definitely a PAC12 v. SEC championship.

Might have to root for USCe for the 3-pete.  They have been consistent all season and have the best chance of bringing the title home.

I don't see how it helps for USCe to win another, so "Go Hogs".

I think USCe has a better shot at beating Arizona than the Hogs.  Yesterday they had to play a double header against two different teams and came away with two good wins.  Also, it is easier for me to root for an SEC East team than one of Bama's main rivals like Arkansas.  But I will be rooting for whoever wins tonight.

Is it just me, or is it a little ironic to talk about the Hogs and "rooting" for them?  :-\

Go USCe.

I drove through Conway on my way to Myrtle Beach a few weeks ago and thought about you. The whole pacle looks like it's full of shifty alternator salesmen.

LOL. An e-cred is your peer's recognition of your meritorious postings and Piggly Wiggly may in fact accept them if you are half the advocate we believe you to be!

I still think USC wins its third-in-a-row. They have a "flinty" attitude and know how to win. Great program. Mal Moore, are you listening?

Looking bad for USCe: 5-1 in the 8th (Arizona leads).

Yeah, I was surprised because USC ia a great team. Well, it's 2 out of 3, so USC can still win it all.

I remember a recent softball team that lost their first game in the best 2 out of 3 and they looked pretty bad as SC did in doing so. Maybe it can happen twice for the SEC.

Let's hope.
Les Miles is petitioning for a 2-out-of-3 playoff.  LOL.  Maybe he'd go for that if we let LSU start at midfield every possession.

South Carolina played 2 more games than Arizona last week (an extra game on Thursday and a game on Friday when AZ was off), and as a consequence, had to start a pitcher who had only started 3 games all season.  Hopefully USCe gets its starting pitching back for tonight's game.

Game tied 1-1 in the top of the 8th.   :o :o

Yep, USCe has better pitching tonight.  AZ has only started two pitchers in the World Series, so if S. Car. can win tonight I think the advantage goes their way.

Error on 1st.  That was sloppy.  Could be a big IF.  AZ has runners on 1st and 3rd with 2 outs.

Well USCe got out of the inning game still tied.

USCe gets a man on third in the bottom of the eighth on a wild throw to second.  But AZ gets out of the inning on a K.

TOP OF THE 9TH, game tied 1-1.

AZ  scored three runs in the top of the 9th.

Score is 4-1.

USCe has their work cut out for them in the bottom of the 9th.
