Quote
Sandusky, a 68-year-old retired defensive coach who was once Paterno's heir apparent, was found guilty of 45 of 48 counts and is almost certain to spend the rest of his life in prison. The charges carry a minimum 60-year sentence and 442 years at maximum.

The next best thing to burning in Hell.

This is all the justice system can do. The inmates will take care of the rest of his punishment here on earth. His sole will burn in hell for eternity.

I'll be glad when they sentence this scumbag, so that will be the last we have to hear about him.

No doubt this guy will burn hotter than most in hell. Did you notice his picture as he was being led outside the court in handcuffs? For some reason he didn't have that little smirky smile on his face. I loved it. Now, all those Penn State administrators need to go to jail for protecting this animal.

Let the made for TV movie and a documentary or two keep the fires smoldering in Happy Valley for years. 45 counts right under their collective noses. They got so caught up in the "WE ARE, PENN STATE" spirit they allowed child rape to go on, literally, in the hallways of the AD. Turned a blind eye to felony child abuse on an unimaginable scale, so as not to upset their apple cart. They allowed child rape and mediocre football to exist under the same roof. From Joe Paterno on down, they deserve worse than what they are getting,-- but the final judgment IS the one that counts.

You're hitting the nail on the head. Paterno ran Penn St. and the administrators didn't want to interfere with his rule or act against one of his "boys" (Sandusky). Paterno had to know Sandusky was a pervert. The thing no one has mentioned is that child molesters don't start when they are in their 50's. There are untold victims out there who have not cone forward. I guarantee you, his molesting goes back at least 35 to 40 years. Such an avoidable tragedy. Very sad.

I was surprised at how fast they got through the prosecutions witnesses (victims). I thought the defense was going to rake them over coals-- or try to anyway  >:(. But thankfully, I never heard or read reports of the defense intentionally trying to embarrass witnesses. Still, Sandusky could have tried to salvage some small scrap of honor by just pleading guilty and sparing everyone from the punishments of the open courtroom.

If ever a school needed the death penalty for their football program, Penn State sure deserves it. Also, there should be severe punishment for any school official that helped with the cover up of this.

psu should be the new SMU only with a longer death sentence , way longer .
I'm sure the ncaa doesn't  have jurisdiction over this but it's screwed up
that you can rape little kids at a football program just don't buy the players anything .

^^This. It breaks my heart to think about this. MD, you are right, there are countless boys out there who have been victims to his molestations who have never come forward and are living with the guilt and shame of what happened to them. If they don't put Sandusky in isolation in prison, he will be Dahmered, and God forgive me for saying so, but that would be fine with me.

Lawyers know better than to attack multiple sexual abuse victims in court. It would cause the jury to turn against the defense. If it was one, maybe two victims, they might try that, but with 8 victims, it's hard to go after all of them. Basically, the defense was unarmed and up against the wall in this case.

Yep, the defense never had a chance.  The guy was guilty, and everyone in the courtroom knew it.
