The folks at Rivals.com created a buzz last week with their annual Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge in Atlanta, drawing some of the nation's top pros­pects. College coaches -- and analysts from other recruiting web sites -- aren't allowed to attend.

So why go if you are a high-profile prospect? For the competition against elite talent and to improve your status in the world of cyber recruiting.

"Everybody who's there is al­ready well-known," said Justin Hokanson, an analyst for Au­burnSports. com, a part of the Ri­vals team. "It's literally the best players in the country. Every kid there was a four- or five-star pros­pect and the point is to get the players competing against the best. The four-star guys are trying to become five stars."

Eighty top members of the Class of 2013 attended, as did a smaller sampling of rising high school juniors.

One notable ab­sentee: Clemson commitment Robert Nkemdiche, who remains Rivals' top-rated prospect for the upcoming season.

Rivals analysts from across the country were in attendance, including the newest addition to TideSports.com: Andrew Bone, formerly the Southeastern analyst for FoxSports/Scout.com. I asked Hokanson and Bone to give us their takes on the performances. ...
