Remember Bill Troup? How about Joe Reed?

You'd probably have to be a die-hard fan of the old Baltimore Colts or the Detroit Lions for those names to ring a bell -- or perhaps a student of the football histories of South Carolina or Mississippi State.

Troup and Reed are the last quarterbacks from those two SEC schools to start more than half of any one season in the NFL.

While former Gamecock Anthony Wright started seven games for the Baltimore Ravens in both 2003 and 20005, South Carolina hasn't had a full-time NFL starter since Troup, who started 11 games for the Colts in 1978. He threw for 1,882 yards and 10 touchdowns in those games, his only career starts, after former LSU quarterback Bert Jones went down with a shoulder injury.....

Cue article on AJ!
