Post by: Marshal Dillon on March 28, 2011, 09:47:28 PM
Some really odd choices, but about three good ones.

Some great names but I think it comes from in house myself. Why, wouldn't it? RTR!

Gus Malzahn? Dabo Swinney? They are kidding, right?

Definitely over-the-top suggestions.

Malzahn WILL NOT be the head coach of PSU, nor will he be asked to interview unless he has some proven success as a HC under his belt first.  I'd go so far as to say if Terry Bowden wins a NC at UNA then he may garner more interest at PSU than Malzahn.

I like Fitzgerald or Sciano from the list.  I doubt Meyer would want to follow Joe Pa's footsteps as his ego couldn't stand being in that shadow.

It is probably Paterno's decision. If so, I would think he will go with someone inside the program. Would grabbing a coach from the Big East be admitting they were wrong for leaving. Tressel may be available.

Yes, kind of like CAG to UT.  I agree with preacher, I think they promote someone that is currently on staff.

CJP would roll over if he don't get to pick the next replacement. Just do it! RTR!

I think they will stay in-house, but if you were going to go for an assistant, then I think Bud Foster would probably be a great choice. He consistently has VT among the elite in defense.
