You can also merge the thread I started with another story linked, Chech.

We lost a huge piece of Americana today.

Sad day indeed.  :(

What a great show. The reruns never got old. You may never see a better cast of actors.

My bad Chech. Didn't realize you already had something.

edit by Chech: "No problem. I think you posted first, and it was in a more appropriate location."

I first remember Andy when he made a record about a baseball game in a pasture, I was pretty young then and can't remeber a whole lot about it but I know we thought he was a very funny man.

When you look at all that he was responsible for in making sitcoms as popular as they became, he and Lucille Ball stand at the front of the fine for those that did most.

RIP Andy, you were one of my favorite tv heros. :(

I remember "What it was was football" as a 33-rpm record.  We loved it.  Fortunately, I found it on YouTube.

He made a movie early in his acting career that was really funny.  I think it was called "No time for sargents" or something like that.

Regardless, RIP Andy

Yes. He was appointed as the PLO, Private Latrene Officer or Orderly, and that was one funny movie.

He left strict instructions that he wanted to be buried as fast as possible after his death.
