I love Coach Sweeney because he is Alabama family. I will say that this young man better be glad he didn't come to Alabama and start swinging his weight CNS would have put him straight. This type of rudeness MAY enter the conversation with schools that, for instance, also gaurantee starting positions to high school recruits. I stated in another thread that there are some schools that will jump on his offer in a heartbeat, if he's not too particular where he plays. At this point in time, I just don't think he fits the mold of the caliber of players that CNS is recruiting. It only takes one bad apple to spoil a barrel of them and I'm thinking this guy just might be a bad apple. It's absolutely crazy to give new employees the equivalent of a CEO salary on their first day on the job. In the real business world, most employees start at teh bottom with a low-level salary and work their way up. Sports is exactly the opposite. And Nkemdiche doesn't have the right to make demands when he hasn't proven himself. He's just another freshmen as far as I'm concerned.

But really, in most businesses, you start out as a peon when you come out of college or whatever, and you work your way up to management. The point is that in the NFL rookies get paid a ridiculous salary without ever having played a down. In college, these high school recruits are treated like rock stars before they ever step on the field. It's backwards. |
