Title: "Reuben Foster talks Alabama, Auburn and official visits"

"Knowing that my mom won't have transportation to my college, it gets me sometimes. So sometimes, yeah, I think about going to Auburn but I'm a solid commit to Alabama. I'm still with Alabama because I want to take care of my family."

That is good news. Maybe he should try to get his family located in the Tuscaloosa area, it would make it a lot easier on everyone.

It's not but about a 3-4 hour drive from his home to Tuscaloosa??? This family stuff sounds like some Auburn coaches working on his head a little as well as his family.

Good points.
The real story in that quote is his belief that if he wants to "take care of his family" (get a big NFL paycheck), he needs to go to Alabama, not Auburn.

I picked up on that as well but he's making this situation a lot worse by stradling a fence and thinking everything will be all right. He made a bad decision by transfering to Auburn High School though, he jumped right into a snake pit.

Translation:  Nick Saban can coach me up and get me in the NFL. Chiznik and Richt will be gone before I graduate.

The only question seems to be about WHERE he'll go.  He's apparently flippin' to either UGA or the Aubs.

The Aubs choice may be good news for us.  He may pull a Yeldon and flip back in February.  Either way, "Bye".

I predict UGa. His buddy is committed there, so unless he's flipping also, I think he's going there. Maybe Bo can talk some sense into him.

This guy is becomming a head case. He runs his mouth too much to the media. I understand if he wants to take a few visits and confirm he is making the right choice to come to Alabama but he is going about this all wrong. He is making some very poor decisions. He should have never transfered to Auburn HS if Bama is where he wants to play college ball.

How are his grades? He does not come off as being a real smart guy.

I haven't been too impressed with him since he transfered to Auburn High School and said he stands firm on his commitment to Bama. CNS looks for players that will become leaders and Foster seems to be a player that wants to follow his friends/teammates in whatever direction they are going.

I was raised to be a man of my word but I don't see this in many of the recruits. What is so sad is when one of the fence stradling recruits gets left out in the end, they want to go nationally and slam a school for not signing them. So many of these young men come from poverish homes, you would think that they would be more appreciative of a chance offered to them to better their lives rather than playing the silly games with those doing the offering.

Well CNS wants a recruit to be 100% or nothing. If you are all in you will do anything it takes to be a great player for that team. If they are bouncing around with nervous feet, they aren't stable. I would say with 100% belief that CNS knows what these kids are going to do before they do it. RTR!

If CNS doesn't have a pull-the-scholly policy, he should. We have earned the right and ability to do that. You get an offer. If you decommit, there is no changing your mind, so think hard about what you are doing.

I'll bet you were a Boy Scout, Preacher.  There we learned "trustworthy, loyal, helpful...".  The world is a vastly different place today!  And I'm not talking politics; I'm talking people and families, like you are.

You know Chechem I feel so sorry for these kids today. They never felt love at the end of a belt or hickory switch. Then they turnout like some of the recruits getting arrested for stupidity and go on to big money in the NFL and ain't got enough common sense to know what to do with it. I really feel a heart felt sorrow. I guess what love more than anything about CNS is he recruits class and if it is not class you'll see great players losing elsewhere. RTR!

Too me the key point is where he stated his mom would not get to see him play with him going to Bama.  Well I have a feeling she will now have transportation to AU and maybe even a job there.

Bingo! E-cred to X and HSC, for calling it like it is. Somebody is "taking care of his family" alright, but it ain't Bama. CNS does it the right way by preparing you for the NFL, so you can take care of your family. I'm guessing the barn is throwing some of that Cammy cash at him and mama to meet, let's call it, immediate needs.

Give a fairly tough kid (boy or girl) a choice between the hickory or a "no TV" punishment, the kid will take the switchin' or the belt every time. 5 minutes later it is over. The main problem with 'no cell phone' or 'no TV' is that the burden lies on the parent to make sure the punishment is carried out for the entire time. I used to be a big fan of the spanking but now feel that hitting kids just makes things worse, for the kid-- for society.  Our kids have outgrown the rod but I can get miles and miles out of my look of disgust, disappointment, and embarrassment. "Your behavior tonight has really disappointed me and I hate to have to tell your Mother what you did. Did you even think of what this will do to her before you acted?" If this surprises you, don't even ask about my anti death penalty stance (easy way out).

Two days ago Foster made a statement that he was solid at Bama and now he has decided to change his mind. I feel that something happened between him and CNS and we all know that you don't play games with the coach. CNS has said before that if recruits want to shop around then he does as well. There are two linebackers that CNS is after and I think he pretty much made it clear to Foster.

Auburn has done what they usually do, jump at an easy chance to make the headlines but I feel CNS has no regrets of Fosters decision, Foster is the big loser. Auburn didn't take Foster away from Bama, CNS gave him to them. ;)

Tray Matthews is a UGA commit and friends with Foster. They have said they want to play together. It looks like he had no idea Foster was going to flip.

Should we take bets on how long it will be before he suits up for Arkansas State or Alabama State?

Foster, who I am guessing is 17, is about to begin his senior year in HS and has a 3 year old daughter. That puts him 14 when she was born. He may be a 5 star but this kid has some issues to deal with.

#+, very good pmull. When I see these kids trying to raise kids, that is heartbreaking. He only proves how naive he is. I just have a such a sadness knowing here is another child that probably will never be taught right from wrong by a dad, because he don't even know right from wrong. RTR!

Getting knocked up by a potential millionaire athlete is one way to elevate ones status and social standing. Another would be hard work and determination.  I hope he succeeds or we'll end up supporting all three of them.

Come on guys.  Trent Richardson has two children, ages 5 and 3, and he's only 21.

When a guy chooses another school, he's not worth talking about, good or bad.  That's what Auburn fans do.

I don't think TR used good judgement when he was 16 either. He has shown he is mature enough to handle it. Most kids are not. Especially at 14.
