Title: Big Ten Sanctions Penn State--SIAP
Post by: Marshal Dillon on July 24, 2012, 03:28:19 PM
I was wondering if the Big 10 was going to do this. This ensures they don't sneak in the back door to a championship.

Here's a part of the article that was interesting.

Penn State's postseason ban, coupled with Ohio State's one-year postseason ban, means only four teams in the Big Ten Leaders Division — Illinois, Indiana, Purdue and Wisconsin — will be eligible for this year's conference championship game.

They may as well announce Wisconsin as the division winner by default.

Wow! I had no idea that the division was aligned like that. Wisconsin should be in the championship game every year!

Pathetic, ain't it? Of course, this is the Big Ten we are talking about and they only had 4 real football programs, counting Michigan, OSU, Wisconsin, & PSU. Now, Penn State has been crushed leaving only 3 competitive programs in the league.
