Title: Penn State Player Transfer to USC
Post by: Marshal Dillon on July 31, 2012, 07:16:38 PM
This will cost Penn State at least 2/3 games. He was their main offensive weapon, especially for their ground attack. This is a major blow. Kiffen strikes again.

No surprise.  USC committed a secondary violation when one of its players, a backup QB and former teammate of the RB, commented upon the recruitment.

This isn't particularly good for Bama.  One of our projected main obstacles to win the BCSNC just got significantly stronger.

This guy ran for 65 yards on 22 attempts against Bama last year, an average of less than 3 ypc.  So I think we could handle him.  I understand his move, Penn State is losing their OL and he probably won't put up the same numbers if he stayed at PSU.

USC has no D-Line this year.  I think they will drop in the polls by midseason.

USCw has depth issues as well. That will show up by midseason and cause them problems late in the year.

I know I will get blasted for this but so be it. These young players are to be the leaders of this country in the future. What has happen to their Integrity and Reverence? This all about me world means he didn't have his teammates in mind at all. So these days even if you sign a LOI as giving your word, your word don't mean anything. I am sorry but these kids are being raised to me first. No wonder. RTR!

I understand the sentiment Ricky, but it could be argued that the university that they signed up to play for has abandoned them. Or maybe more to the point, the university they thought they signed up to play for isn't the university that has been revealed to all over the past months.

When the current players were recruited to play at Penn State I am sure they were told about the schools values and winning with integrity. They were told they would play for championships and go to major bowl games. They were told Penn State is one of the most respected football programs in the NCAA. Some grew up Penn State fans and will stay. Some feel their education comes first and the school is fulfilling those promises. Some have made friends and do not want to leave their teammates. But you have to respect that some feel like they were lied to and the school let them down. Penn State broke their commitment to these kids long before these kids broke their commitment to Penn State.
