Title: Scarboog -Auburn should worry if former players' charges on HBO special are true Post by: ssmith general on March 30, 2011, 11:28:01 AM Quote BIRMINGHAM, Alabama - Stop it, Auburn fans, at least those of you looking for any way possible to soften, deflect or dismiss the blow that seems headed your way this evening. Just stop it. Stop calculating the statute of limitations on NCAA violations reportedly alleged by four of your former football players and start wondering if those allegations are true. Stop rationalizing that other schools also are reportedly accused of wrongdoing in the HBO Real Sports special on college athletics set to air tonight at 9 Central time and start wondering if more of your own former players could tell similar stories. Stop downplaying the supposedly widespread practices throughout college football of selling your memorabilia and game tickets and receiving handshakes full of money and start wondering how widespread those practices may have been in your own program. http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2011/03/post_209.html (http://media.al.com/sports_impact/photo/hbo-logojpg-660c8d9c680765ec.jpg) Title: Re: Scarboog -Auburn should worry if former players' charges on HBO special are true Post by: ssmith general on March 30, 2011, 11:29:39 AM Should I blog the booger article? Widespread or not, the players, coaches, and others involved knew it was against the rules and they chose to break them. Now, they have to accept the consequences (whatever they may be). Using the scholarship loophole to get a couple of other textbooks for friends or to be returned late for a bit of cash was also a widespread practice (for lots of scholarship students, not just athletes). Someone has to be the example case. Sorry boogers, looks like it may be your turn. Talking about what Tuberville asst coach had a trucking business. Is this a possible link to NOW, and Cecil Newton?
