Title: Saban combats off-the-field issues
Post by: Jamos on August 14, 2012, 09:43:03 PM
With Nick Saban's role as college football czar seemingly expanding by the day, it was only a matter of time before the sport's off-the-field issues would find a way to his podium in Tuscaloosa, most notably Tyrann Mathieu's unceremonious exit from LSU.

Quote
"What we’re talking about here is foresight," Saban said. "Mature people have foresight, they can see what happens, they understand the consequences of their behavior. Sometimes immature people don’t, and we most certainly want to try to develop that as quickly as we can so that our players make good choices and decisions and can take advantage of their gifts -- personally, academically and athletically."

that  quote is dead on ...
I got to spend a few minutes yesterday with  Isaiah Crowell uncle
as we talked , in so many words that is what he said about Isaiah .
immature decisions got him in trouble , now as a family they are
working to get him on the right path and get his life straight .
I hope they can ... I wished him the best from the Alabama Nation .

Very good article. CNS  leaves nothing to chance. He is proactive in everything he does. He does everything necessary to nurture a good character in the players. I'm certainly not naive enough to think that none of the players do drugs or carry a weapon, but I would be willing to bet that there are fewer at Bama than at most places. Just one more reason that separates Saban from the rest. Thanks for posting, J.

Instead of giving an e-cred to everyone who did not post this article you should just boo Jamos. HTH

Clearly you missed the humor.

"Do the right things in life", how many times have we heard CNS say this? To me, this is the one thing that CNS preaches to his players and all of the recruits that visit Bama and it has paid off in so many ways, just look at the character of the players at Bama and do some comparing to the players at other schools.  ;)

Okay, since it's gotten complex, here's the deal:
1. Jamos posted the thread last night;
2. I read it and thanked him;
3. This morning, half awake, I posted the same story in a new thread;
4. 2 saw it and made light;
5. Cleverly (harumph), after removing my thread, I gave Jamos and 2 each an e-cred;
6. pmull mulled it over, misunderstood who got the e-creds, and posted his clever crack (with reference to previous conflicts that had finally scabbed over);
7. Now it's a fun fest.  If anybody else wants an e-cred, just pipe up.  :dunno:

I assumed that is what happened.  I guess the idea of booing Jamos just seemed so ridiculous that I thought it was funny.
