Quote Michigan's top incoming defensive line recruit, Ondre Pipkins, was expected to provide some much-needed depth to the Wolverines front four this year, but a neck injury suffered by the big freshman on Friday morning puts those plans in doubt. The 6-foot-3, 340-pound behemoth was hospitalized following his injury and later reported to be in stable condition. Michigan coach Brady Hoke released a statement saying Pipkins has movement in all his extremities. There is no word on when, or if, he might return to the practice field. With Pipkins' status unclear--and with just 15 days to go before a scheduled clash with defending national champ Alabama--Michigan might have some real issues on the defensive line. The Wolverines were already down three starters from 2011 after losing two-time second-team All-Big-Ten tackle Mike Martin, tackle Will Heininger and end Ryan Van Bergen to graduation. Only senior end Craig Roh returns from a unit that helped Michigan jump from 10th in the conference in rushing defense in 2010 to third last year....
