Whose fault is that? They are supposed to be student-athletes, and if they don't work hard on their studies, then that is their fault, not the NCAA's fault.

How much longer can the NCAA take the barrage of complaints that players are being paid and not take some action.
I think the Newton deal is the straw that has broken the camels back for them in that the NCAA knew it was wrong but what do we do about it. This NCAA soap opera is far from over, stay tuned. They spent the first 30 minutes talking about how unfair college sports (football and basketball mostly) is to players. "Everyone gets money except the players", was the theme. Blah, blah, blah.
Then they introduced the idea of NCAA violations under the umbrella of "NCAA is always chasing the violations, not ahead of them", and that's when they talked to the players. Aubs were the primary target, but it wasn't well done. No coaches were named, but specific amounts of money were discussed (mostly hundreds). No mention of anything but quicky payoffs. I didn't think it exposed anything that the NCAA would use as a springboard; rather, it made the NCAA look bad, so they'll bury it.
