This first week we have games starting on Thursday and going all the way through Monday... 5 days in a row.  I also included all the games for the top 5 teams.

This year we are going to have a slight tweak to the rules.  Instead of having a deadline for all of your games, I have entered the game time for each game.  We will be able to change our pick for an individual game up until 1 hour before the scheduled kick off for that game.  So if you get your picks in late or change your mind, you can still pick the games that haven't been played yet.

The deadline that shows in the little box on the left of the page is the deadline for the first game of the week.

You really don't think USC & Oklahoma won't run the score up?

I picked Oklahoma and gave the points (30.5).  In the case of USC, I'm sure they will run the score up, I just don't know if their defense can keep Hawaii from staying within 40.  That is a lot of points to give for a team with a brand new inexperienced D-line.

Tough picks.  I'll save this until later (when I'm more awake).

Thanks for doing this SC!  It was a lot of fun last year, and I expect more of the same this time.

The toughest pick for me was the LSU/No. Texas game and the 43 points, but I still picked LSU.

Done. I might have done myself in, but I went yes on all of them. That usually means I'll get 60-70 percent wrong.

Yep, and we still have a couple of days.  Everybody spread the word on Facebook, Twitter, word of mouth, and any other convenient means.  For this first week, everyone who plays will get 1 e-cred for each player.  So right now all 30 people will get 30 e-creds each.  If we get 10 more people, then all 40 will get 40 e-creds, etc.  Let's see how high we can get it before the deadline.

I'm sure the guys you invited are friendly folks.  All foreigners are welcome here as long as they are not here to cause trouble.  In fact, I have been thinking about adding a place to the profile page for people to indicate what school they are for, and then show their school's logo alongside their avatar when they post.

Thanks MD.  They don't come here to see me though.  They come here for the same reason I do, the same reason I started the place:  to talk about sports without having to deal with all the shenanigans that you find on a typical internet site.  All of you guys make that possible.

How's this here thing gonna be scored anyhow?

Same as last year.  Whoever gets the most games correct is the winner.  If two people have the same number of correct games, then we look to see who has the least number of incorrect games.  If they are still tied, then we go to the tie breaker question and see who is closer to the correct answer.  If they are still tied after that, then it is a tie.

For the overall contest, it is the same except each person can drop their 2 worst weekly scores.  Of course this won't come into play until we have at least 3 weeks on the books.

Thanks for all you do SC. I feel like I a sitting around talking sports with good friends. Sometimes we agree and other times we don't. That's what makes this site what it is.

If anyone else wants to enter the contest for this week, or change one of your picks, just post it in here and I will change it for you.  Right now it still blocks you from making changes after the deadline.  I am working on a site update that will let you change or add picks for games that still have not been played, but I don't have it ready yet.

I'm still pizzed that USCw lost the spread by 1 point. I went underdog on the big point spreads for the first week except for USCw. I thought Kiffin was such a jerk that he would never let up. I guess they are not good enough to beat Hawaii by more than 40 or he would have.
