Title: Here's why Saban's happy...
Post by: Hannibal Lecter, MD on August 28, 2012, 11:40:16 AM
Quote
"I think this team is different from the teams in the past, in a lot of different ways," he said. "Everyone is going to say that if the team doesn't play well, that it's because they feel entitled. I can tell you . . . if this team is not successful, it's not because of the character and attitude of the team. It'll be because of the lack of experience the team has in certain positions, and they may make too many mistakes to win."

He could've cut to the chase and said, "We're young, but I like my team."

This team "gets it."  http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2012/08/nick_saban_tries_to_avoid_a_re_1.html

If Saban is happy then I'm happy.

If this team makes it through he first three games without a loss, they won't feel so young anymore.  RTR

I have a good feeling about this. If the most stoic human being on the planet cannot contain his optimism about this team, there must be something he's pretty damned impressed with. Could this be the perfect storm of raw talent, disciplined adherence to technique, depth at all positions (except QB) and a laser focused team mind? I sure hope so. I would love to see them not only win Saturday, but to achieve a jaw-dropping level of intensity and domination. No penalties. No turnovers. Unstoppable ball control. Defensive shut out.

Pass the kool-aid, for I will drink deep from that cup until the reality of the actual football season interrupts my reverie.
