Robinson speaks
Denard Robinson rushed for 27 yards on 10 carries and passed for 200 yards in a 11-of-26 night. Michigan coach Brady Hoke said he wanted to run Robinson more but couldn’t because of what Alabama’s defense did.

Added Robinson: “We didn’t play Michigan football. They had a great team. I give them credit, but we didn’t come to play ball today. You guys could see that we dind’t come to play ball today.

“I didn’t make the throws that I should have made today and I feel that I didn’t play as the Michigan quarterback today. I’ve got to step it up and be more accountable.”

"Obviously, we didn't play Michigan football, and that's something that bothers our team, bothers the coaches," Hoke said after a 41-14 loss to the defending national champion Saturday night. "Win or lose your first game, you learn a lot."

Quote
"It's a deflating loss, it should sting," safety Jordan Kovacs said. "But at the end of the day, you can't let Alabama beat you twice."

questions to Brady Hoke:
Q: Throughout fall camp, you said that this game would be a measuring stick for how your team has progressed throughout fall camp and since you took over as coach. Where's that measuring stick?
"I would think we're on the short end of the measuring stick right now. I mean, we've got a lot of things that I know we can do better. I've seen us do it better, and we've got to go back to work."

Q: It seems like you guys didn't run to Denard Robinson as much. Was that the game plan tonight? How were you planning to use him?
"There are some (games) that we're going to run him a little more. There are some plays in there that maybe he could have kept it. I'm sure he kept it once or twice. But we couldn't establish the line of scrimmage."

Quote
Denard Robinson:
On the game plan using the run and the pass ... "I tried to make throws, some good throws down the field and whatever coach threw at us we ran.

"There are some [plays] we were going to run him a little more," Michigan coach Brady Hoke said. "There are some read plays in there that maybe he could have kept it, should have kept it once or twice.

"Now, we couldn't establish the line of scrimmage. When you can't do that, it doesn't do you very well."

Thing is, Robinson used to thrive on the broken play, when the protection failed or the receivers couldn't create open spaces. Freelancing was when he would be at his most dangerous. ....

"I know Coach [Al] Borges is going to have a lot to say to me," Robinson said. "Because I didn't play well."

They shouldn't be too down on themselves.  It was an impossible task.  I hope to see them go on and dominate the Big 10.

That's the thing. Bama takes EVERYONE out of their game plan.

At least they understand what it means to be PROCESSED now.

Mich football works in the big 10, not the SEC.

I noticed the spoken word: "We can not let Alabama beat us twice." Now how do they plan that, unless they actually think they are going to the BCSNCG. RTR!

What they mean is that they can't be so focused on this loss that they don't prepare well this week and get beat again be who ever they play next.

Thanks SC, I really didn't catch that. That is true though if they dwell on us then they lose more. RTR!

BINGO!!! Plus, they were not playing such tough Big Ten teams as Indiana, Minnesota, Iowa, Purdue, Illinois, or Northwestern, all powerful teams, in checkers.
