Title: Devil's Advocate-Story About Saban

Be sure to click the number 1, if you don't see Saban's picture when you go to the site.

Watching Alabama slap around Michigan 41-14 on Saturday at JerryWorld, I found myself appreciating the man of the exceptionally pleated pants and few funny words. And in this time of fallen saints among college football’s coaching ranks, I feel compelled to write in praise of Satan.

Why some people hate Saban is why I have come to respect him. There is something admirable about the man who lays it out there. This is who I am.
No pretending. No pretense. No sainthood BS.

I honestly think this is why CNS is so successful.  He lays it on the line and does not sugar coat things like many people do today.  If you screw up he lets you know it, if you do good he lets you know it.  People have become to use to everybody gets a ribbon mentality.

With CNS, what you see is not always what you get. He is demanding, yes, but he has a genuine side that he cares for the players. He wants to make them better people and graduate as well. I think he believes there are no stars on the team and that each practice is to make competition for each position. Yes they must play up to standards daily.

Frankly, that is one of the most insightful pieces that I have read about CNS.

Thanks for posting it.

She is also the writer who wrote that Saban got outcoached in the lost to LSU last year.

Once again a sportswrite fails to understand. WHat a shocker. Saban doesn't care about winning or losing. He has said this over and over. If he cared about winning and losing he would be laughing on the sideline when the game is out of reach. Saban, however, is losing his temper and yelling at his players no matter what the score is. Understand this: Saban only cares about one thing: Doing your job right, every time. He doesn't pay attention to the score until the game is over. He preaches over and over again that everyone has to go all out on every play, no matter what the score is or how much time is on the clock. He gets mad because he sees someone doing something wrong, or only going half-speed, or taking a play off. He doesn't get mad if his team loses. He gets mad because his team did too many things wrong to win. This is why he is the best coach in the country. This is why he fits in so well at Alabama, because Bama fans expect perfection as well.
