Title: A few observations from Dallas
Post by: Catch Prothro on September 04, 2012, 04:57:37 PM
Finally back in Alabama.  A few quick observations:

1.  Nussmeier is the coaching upgrade we were hoping for.
2.  RB rotation is trending towards: Yeldon, Fowler and Lacy, in that order.  Coming soon to a game near you.
3.  If you are the Big10 Commish and call out Alabama, Saban's response will not be subtle.

RTR.

So you think Yeldon will be starting soon?

Thanks, CP.  Good comments.
I stayed at home.  Wish I'd gone to the game.
But I could tell that Yeldon was the man from my couch.  :)

One thing I noticed about Yeldon is that he was carrying the ball in the wrong arm at times.  I'm sure they will get that corrected ASAP though.

Yeah, but at least he was carrying it high (as all our good RBs do).  Guy's a prize.  To think, the Aubs almost got him.

BTW, loved your 'Yeldon starting soon' comment!

He did have a good grip on it.  Didn't Lacy start against Michigan?  ???  (I was laughing at the Big 10 commish).

Yep, Lacy started and had a carry up the middle for ~1 yard on the first play.

Lacy also had a fumble, and we didn't see much of him after that.  I don't think Lacy is 100%.  Yeldon continued with what we saw in A-Day, definitely the talent at RB.  And I was impressed with Fowler, great feet for such a big guy, and also blocking role as H-back.

Yep, I remember that fumble now.

Watching Yeldon run on the replay now (commercial break ESPN 360).  ...
