How bad was the No. 1 team in the nation on Saturday?

“We had far too many negative plays on offense that really hurt us,” Alabama football coach Nick Saban said in his postgame press conference, beginning a litany of problems.

This was awful: Six sacks allowed. … Only 103 net yards rushing on 31 carries…. Only four third-down conversions in 10 attempts. … The defense surrendered 14 first downs after giving up 11 a week ago to a top-10 opponent....

“Jalston’s a really unique player,” star center Barrett Jones said. “He’s certainly not somebody we want to lose.”

This isn’t one of the Crimson Tide’s stars. Not even a starter.

But it was becoming clear that Fowler would be a key player in Alabama’s offense this season. He is the third-team running back but was seeing extensive action at fullback in an I-formation that is a different wrinkle in new offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier’s attack. Fowler even was playing H-back.

“He’s basically a starter, in our opinion,” Jones said. “He plays a lot. It will be a big loss.” ...

I fear the worst. A minimum of a torn ACL.  :(

Jalston's injury looked bad. It reminded me of the Hightower injury a few years ago. I hope the MRI shows it is not serious and he will be back sooner rather than later.

The replay looked like a hyper-extension when he was leg whipped.  I hated seeing him in pain and dejected.  We'll miss that big heart.  God bless him.

I posted on another thread last night that I had read that the I initial thought was a torn PCL.

Does having a prescription for limpitis qualify you to make medical evaluations?

Yes, and I have a diagnosis for you. You have Ed Zachary's disease.
