Title: Thoughts on Arky ULM
Post by: SeniorTSM on September 09, 2012, 07:55:09 AM
I watched most of this game, because my wife is from Arkansas and still pulls a little for them (shes not a big Football fan).

First, you could see early that Arky didnt prepare on D for ULM. they moved the ball with ease the whole game. I dont think they knew ULM's QB could run. And once again the Arky D is a below avg SEC D.

Second, much like Alabama Sat, They could not protect Wilson he got hit on every throw.

And last but what i think is the reason they lost, the play calling was horrible. Wilson doesnt come out in the second half, so what do you do if your Arky? You have a 21 point lead, you have a back up QB thats not ready, what kind of plays would you call?

Yep you guessed it, throw deep, throw into coverage, even try a terrible set up screen. They went three and out over an over. and I saw maybe 5 run plays. the run plays were draws also. never did they say hey were bigger than you, were going to line up and smash you until you are tired then we can throw it. they keep their D on the field chasing a mobile QB all over the field. It was sad to watch.

Now ULM plays the Barn next week, no way the Barn loses in my mind (wish they would) but if Chiz dont run the ball at that team then they are just plain dumb.

Thanks for the insight for those of us who missed details.  I tried, but I couldn't watch every game!

"Tyler Wilson does not have a broken collarbone."   :tinfoil: :tinfoil:

It's something else in his "upper body" near the region of the clavicle, but not exactly there and it may be dislocated or there may be a contusion, but broken it is not.

The mighty SEC West is looking like the Big Two. I expected Arky to struggle at times this year with John L Smith as coach but I never expected them to lose to ULM. I feel like they were looking ahead to us. I expect a better effort out of them next week.
