Title: Chipper Jones and the Atlanta Braves Post by: Marshal Dillon on March 03, 2011, 12:03:58 PM He will be playing his first game today, since he was injured lat year. I think he's 38 and it may be team for him to just go hunting instead of trying to play. What do you all think?

He goes hunting in either Wyoming or Montana. Hunting for what? ;) Who knows, maybe he has another run in him, but I think he's done. Title: Re: Chipper Jones and the Atlanta Braves Post by: BAMADCHAMPSHIPS on March 03, 2011, 12:09:28 PM He has had a great run but he's been hurt a lot the past few years. As a business I would probably let him go a long time ago. As a player I wouldn't want people telling me when I had to hang it up. If he can play somewhere else great but I wouldn't keep him around. JHO

I was making a funny about his historical indiscretions with the ladies. Title: Re: Chipper Jones and the Atlanta Braves Post by: ricky023 on March 03, 2011, 03:23:34 PM Chipper was great in his Day but he is getting old for a player and I may be wrong but I don't think he has the pop he use to have. If he can play a first base type and maybe pick up a few game winning RBI's he would earn his rewards. RTR!
Title: Re: Chipper Jones and the Atlanta Braves Post by: Chechem on March 03, 2011, 04:47:14 PM I thought he retired after the injury. Did he Favre-retire or have I forgotten? Title: Re: Chipper Jones and the Atlanta Braves Post by: BAMADCHAMPSHIPS on March 03, 2011, 05:21:31 PM I thought he retired after the injury. Did he Favre-retire or have I forgotten? He was suppose to retire after last year. However, when he got injuried he decided he was going to go out on his own terms. I'm hoping for a pennant this year. Title: Re: Chipper Jones and the Atlanta Braves Post by: Terrie1959 on March 03, 2011, 05:42:32 PM I really like Chipper. I started watching and cheering for the Braves about 1995. Gone to a few games and there is something special about Chipper. He brings a sense of excitement. I do hope he retires after this year but I hope the Braves hire him in some management capacity. He's spent his entire career with the Braves - something not many players can say.

Man, some of you have been busy bees.. ya'lls post counts are impressive :) I wish Chipper could be the Manager - it won't happen, at least not for a while, but I think it would be great for the team.
