The raw numbers Arkansas’ defense gave up last week — 550 yards and 34 points allowed — don’t tell the whole story of its 34-31 overtime loss to Louisiana-Monroe.

The Razorbacks allowed 6 of 7 fourth-down conversions and Louisiana-Monroe racked up 30 first downs and 103 plays while eating up 39:19 of possession time, nearly doubling Arkansas in ball control.

“Everybody was disappointed in our performance and how we finished the game and how we played,” Arkansas defensive coordinator Paul Haynes said....

I can see that where they gave up all those 4th down conversions we didn't do that when they beat us back whenever it was. They give us that many 4th down conversions and we will score 84 at least on them. RTR!

“It’s not like it’s going to be has hard as preparing for some other people because the variety is like, they’re not going to fool you with the variety,” Arkansas coach John L. Smith said. “So, from that standpoint, it’s a little bit easier than lining up with some people. Now, you have to defend them once you get lined up.”

Is John L. really daring Nick Saban to light him up like the 4th of July? I don't think that was a bright move. Although we may be able to beat them with the standard offense and not have to tip our hand until a little later in the season.  I think our D might just get 2 scores this week with a concussed Tyler Wilson and/or the back-ups.  If they do decide to play Tyler Wilson I think he will be out by the end of the first quarter with another concussion, because once you get one, it is much easier to get subsequent ones. I feel sorry for this kid if he plays tomorrow.

John L is grabbing at straws. Wilson will not play tomorrow, IMO, and he is imploring his team to execute, just to have a chance. We did not run well last week, but I really think we will against them tomorrow, because of the practice reports on the offensive line. We should have a balanced attack. I think we run and pass at will. Arky may play inspired ball for about half of the first quarter, but should be all Bama from there on. I'm looking forward to seeing a genuine pass rush from our "D". I wouldn't be surprised to see 4 or 5 sacks, at least, tomorrow. I hope Jesse is healthy enough to play, and would love to see him in on a couple of those. I see a big day for the Tide.
