If they pick him #1, they could seal the deal as the worst team in the NFL. This has Vince Young/Jamarcus Russell all over it. As bad as Carolina's needs are, Cam Newton does not address any of them (nor any unproven QB). The only way I see Cam going as #1 is if Carolina solicits a trade with Philadelphia for their first round pick and/or some sort of trade to acquire Kolb. Newton and Vick would be a much more compatible pair to run the Eagle's offense. Meanwhile, Kolb would address the needs of QB at Carolina. If Carolina retains their pick they will take one of the top DTs, Bowers at DE (who seems to be sliding as a top choice) or a stud WR. Then attempt to meet their QB needs through an off-season acquisition of a QB. |
