The Hawgs are getting the snot kicked out of them by Texas A&M. A&M is making it look so easy, scoring almost at will.  Late in the 3rd qtr and it's 44-10 A&M. Arkansas started out looking good but by the 2nd quarter they started to melt away. You expect a rout by the Tide, but not A&M.

I can't remember a time when an SEC school was getting manhandled like this EVERY week. Not even Vanderbilt does that.

Seriously, I am worried about John L. Some crazed fan could do something to him. The expectations were GIGANTIC and they could be the worst team in college football this year. Amazing collapse.

I think the administration at Arkansas is even worse than Smith. ;)

This gigantic downfall all started on a late spring Sunday afternoon bike ride.

They came out of last year with SEC championship expectations for this year. They were the solid number 3 team in the league with hopes of getting Alabama and LSU. They have fallen to number 14 in the league. This season can not get over with soon enough for them.

If you don't think the head coach matters just look at Arkansas and the Saints. Everything but the HC is in place with those teams.

Smith really isn't the problem there.  He is doing the best he can in a difficult situation.  Sure, he is way in over his head.  But he was the only one available who was willing to come and baby sit the program until they can do a proper search for a new head coach.  This is all on Bobby in my opinion.

I agree with SC on the blame being on Bobby , but not all of it ...

Petrino is 100% responsible for the Arkansas disaster. His arrogant, selfish actions rocked the team, harmed his marriage, embarrassed the university, and destroyed his reputation.

Exactly. I can understand the Penn St situation with their team but I can't understand a thing about the Arkansas collapse. The part that bothers me most is the AD that supports Smith. The fans and players at Arkansas deserve better than this. I do question the lack of effort by the players though, is it the way the coaches are preparing them for their games or are the players just laying down and that is what makes them look so bad. If it's the players just laying down because of what has happened coach wise, then I have no sympathy for them.

There is no chemistry on that team beginning at the top. The coaches look lost, the players look lost and the fans are incredulous. Nothing good can come of that recipe. One of the fans in the meltdown thread said what most of them were feeling: "aTm sure looks like they're having fun beating up on the retarded kid in a wheel chair". He was trying to be funny, but the reality is that Arky is presently the SEC punching bag.

I hate to be the stick in the mud, but I put full blame on the players. They have the same set of plays before and after Petrino left, they were ranked 8th in the polls, got one of the highest rated QB's in college football and the only piece of that team that isn't there is Petrino. If these players were worth a flip, they would have put on their rally caps and actually played harder that expected of them. To me they are no more than a bunch of quitters and should have their scholarships pulled.JMO
