Title: N.C. State and Missouri in Hot Pursuit of VCU BB Coach Shaka Smart
Post by: Marshal Dillon on April 03, 2011, 10:21:53 PM
The money they are talking about is ridiculous for a 2nd year HC. This could backfire bigtime in someone's face.

The Big 12 is a tough basketball conference, I don't think he would be as successful there. Anderson is a good proven coach and he struggled with wins there.

All I could think about was that giggle and "I'm in hot pursuit!" when I read the thread title.

Missouri actually wouldn't have been such a bad place for him to end up.  They already run a style very similar to what he would bring to the table, thus easing the transition period.

Missouri has a solid BB history, I just don't think he's the answer for them.

This has to really suck if you are a VCU fan. First you lose CAG to Bama two years ago, and now you are on the verge of losing your current coach just two years into his career. Maybe they should start searching for mediocre coaches instead.

Jox radio reported that VCU's coach turned down NCS.  SIAP.

No word on Missou, but the report sounded like he was staying at VCU.

Didn't Mizzou hire Frank Haith from Miami?

Well, that would explain it.  Unless Frank Haith has pulled a Mike Price all-nighter.  ;D
