It could mean the players was great, it could mean he was just admired for other things other than his sport or maybe it just means he was loved for who he was and the circumstances of his destiny with a team.

There's just so many, it's hard to count them all. Bama has so many great players in its history. That's why our tradition is unmatched in any sport at any university. Bama always has and always will stand alone at the pinnacle of great programs. It's not bragging, it's just a fact. No other school in any sport can match the tradition of greatness that is Alabama football. Roll Tide.
