It has been years since I watched a baseball game.  I used to watch just about every day, but the Braves just let me down way too many times.

Sorry I had to leave yesterday but i did see the horrific calls on baseball. I guess they choked again but the Orioles has given me a team I love to see go to World Series. RTR!

It was a terrible call, but the rule needs more clarity too.  As the rule is written, they can justify the call.  There should be some defined space/distance beyond the dirt where it is no longer an infield fly.  I disagree about the timing of the call, though; the runners are at risk as soon as the ball is in the air and have to stay near the base, the purpose of the rule is to take away the risk of being thrown out at the next base because of the wait.  The call does have to be made while the ball is still in the air and the infielder is under it, though. 

Bad news/good news for me yesterday:

Bad - Once again, the Braves have found a new way to disappoint me in October. The infield fly rule call was atrocious, but let's face it, the Braves did many other things yesterday that cost them the game. Three errors and 12 men LOB will kill you every time. Horrible way for Chipper to go out.

Good - O's WIN! O's WIN! Great performance by the guys last night. Hostile environment against the two-time defending AL champs, and the starter was 0-6 lifetime at Rangers Park. Gritty performance by Saunders on the mound, and a little timely hitting down the stretch. Now its time to kick some Yankee butt starting tomorrow night.

Yes, it was close.  I thought he was out too, but I didn't pay much attention to the replay so he could have been safe.  I was too busy griping on him for loafing down to first base.  Come on man, it is your last at bat EVER!  At least hustle down the base line and try to beat it out!  Go out playing at 110%, not coasting like you are some kind of quitter feeling sorry for yourself.
