Title: Gene Chizik not concerned about his job security at Auburn? He should be
Post by: pmull on October 07, 2012, 08:29:09 AM
This article by Sarbo is going to get under the barners skin. The pressure on Chiz is mounting. The barners will be in full meltdown mode this week. I love it. Great off week IMO.

If you lose to a program that had become a laughingstock, what does that make you?

If you lose to a coach that had become a punch line, who’s the joke on now?

It’s getting harder and harder to pin down Chizik’s worst defeat as his team keeps hitting new lows, but letting John L. Smith get the better of you might put this one over the top.

Look at it this way. The Arkansas team that lost to Alabama and Texas A&M by a combined 100 points beat Auburn by 17, and the Tigers never led. In the final 36 minutes, they never got the ball with a chance to take the lead.

Auburn has lost its last five SEC games, three of them this year, by a combined score of 151-48. Auburn didn’t score more than 14 points in any of those games and surrendered less than 24 in only one of them - and still lost.

Since winning the national championship, Auburn is now 9-9 overall. Since proving itself the best team in the nation, Auburn now has the worst record in the SEC.

Things are back to normal on the field.  When the bagman comes forward, that 2010 anomaly will be vacated and things will be back to normal in the record books as well.
