Karras was a little ahead of my time as a football player. I remember him more as an actor. I'll never forget him hitting that horse in Blazing Saddles.

Kidney failure is a tough way to go. My older brother died of kidney failure a few years ago.

I remember him doing the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson several times. He was really a funny guy. Prayers to him and his family.

 , I remember Alex playing great football for the Lions. He was in the George Plimpton TV documentary. As others have said he was a good actor. It is time when we see all the old timer greats going home. I just they are ready to meet the Lord. RTR!

I am old enough to remember him as a player. He was regarded among the best of his time, up there with Butkis, the Steel Curtain, Mean Joe Green, etc.

Strength and Peace to his Family and the Lions Nation (at least those who remember)
