Title: What Has Happened to Defense in the Big 12? Post by: Marshal Dillon on October 13, 2012, 01:07:44 PM We have discussed this before, but I just don't get it. Why is there no defense in the Big 12? They look like the old WAC conference out there. Stoops is a defensive guy, yet his teams give up points by the truckload. Texas used to be known for its big, quick defensive linemen and their good defenses. Oklahoma used to have big, fast defensive linemen and linebackers. Oklahoma mystifies me the most with Bob Stoops and the lack of a real defense.

They've owned Texas in this series recently, and have the more experienced QB.
But I lived in Dallas 6 years and am very familiar with Texas OU Weekend and the Texas State Fair. Cowboy's new stadium is awesome, and the Cotton Bowl stadium is terrible, but it is sad to see the tradition of holding the Texas OU game at the Texas State Fair gone. I think I looked at OU's schedule so far and didn't see anything impressive on there. The only good team they played beat them. I should have realized that OU playing Kansas State pretty close though was probably more impressive than anything Texas has done.
