Title: Auburn Fans Mad & Delusional-UPDATE: Vultures Circling Ove Auburn
Post by: Marshal Dillon on October 13, 2012, 04:34:46 PM
The Auburn boards are hot right now.

Quote
RE: GENE CHIZIK, PLEASE DO AU A FAVOR AND RESIGN!!!
Ole Miss has lost 16 straight SEC games until they played a Chizik coached Auburn team.
GENE CHIZIK IS EMBARRASSING AUBURN UNIVERSITY WITH HIS INABILITY TO COACH FOOTBALL!

Quote
GENE CHIZIK, PLEASE DO AU A FAVOR AND RESIGN!!!
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE GET RID OF THIS INCOMPETENT FOOTBALL COACH!!!

THE TIME IS NOW, NOT THE END OF THE YEAR!!!

Quote
The quicker we can get his office cleaned out and off the plains, the more beneficial for Auburn in getting this thing put back together.

Name your pick for new HC.

Hopefully Jacobs cell phone is melting right now from the big donors.

Bobby Petrino - Sure, I held my nose a little bit but we would get immediate offensive credibility

Gus Malzahn - should be easy to get if Arky doesn't call first, which I'm sure they have

Charlie Strong - I just think he'd do well, sure has Louisville turned around

Dana Holgerson - We have plenty of liquor stores in Auburn right?

These are my best realistic options, people like Peterson aren't leaving their "dream job"

Quote
Re: Name your pick for new HC.
Brian Kelly, Jim Mora and Jack Del Rio

RE: Name your pick for new HC.
Lou holtz would be better than what we have.

Quote
Re: Name your pick for new HC.
1. Petrino
2. Smart
3. Malzahn
4. Strong
5. Freeze

And Jim Mora, a West Coast guy, is going to leave a HC job in the NFL for Auburn. And Charlie Strong is from Arkansas. And Paul Rhoads, HC at Iowa State, is a native of Iowa, so he may not leave. Holgerson of WVA is from Iowa, don't know if he would leave for Auburn.

I don't see Holgerson leaving.  He is an offensive guy and I bet he is enjoying going up against those Big 12 defenses.  Why would he leave that cushy job to have to face SEC defense every week?

I really don't see where Awbarn has a problem. Their coaches, excoaches, fans, and media have been telling us this whole year that their team was just very young and inexperienced and all Cheezedip needed was a few more recruits and some time. So what is all their huff about? :dunno:

Three years to get the guys they need. Then they have to finish H.S. (maybe a couple EEs). Then you have to give him 3 years to develop the talent. 6-7-8 years is more realistic,-- so they need to be patient on the plains.

Those aren't eagles circling over Chiznik's house, they are vultures.

Quote
In three non-Newton seasons at his current school, Chizik is 17-15, including a lowly 7-13 mark in SEC play.  Add in his time at Iowa State, and the AU head coach sports a laughable 22-34 record without Newton.

Chizik comment

Chizik: "Right now, we're looking at baby steps for things we can build on. At times, we could run the football for some tough yards."

Hey!, Chizik...Baby step your butt out the door!

baby steps halfway through the season.

That's one small step for Chizik, one giant leap for our rivals.

Jay Jacobs plan for Monday should be:

1. Cut the check and let the Chiz go.

2. Turn in letter of resignation.

RE: Bama does something with Talent We Don't
They play as solid and disciplined a game of football as I've seen. They do nothing flashy, and they always have the better talent, but that talent doesn't make the big mistakes again and again. They are focused, driven and confident. Even some of the guys like Sunseri play above their "on paper" abilities.

We have recruited near that level. Not only do our players lack fundamental play season after season, but many of them appear to get WORSE as the year winds on. That not only gets you a rep with NFL scouts but also recruits as well, who keep track of such things. They know Bama will push them. I don't think we can demonstrate the same. It will certainly effect recruiting after this season...regardless of how many car salesmen we have on our staff.

If you believe in such things, then what is happening at the Barn is karma, i.e. the Universe is paying them back for all the cheating they've done over the years especially with Cam.  Considering how much they've gotten away with, this dose of karma could last a while.

If you don't believe in such, then this is just plain ole bad coaching.

In Chiz's entire HC career he has made two good decision. No. 1 he hired Gus Malzahn. The barn would not have won 8 games in Chiz's 1st and 3rd year without Malzahn. I think he did more head coaching in three yrs at the barn than Chiz did. No. 2 he bought Scam and Malzahn coached them to a fluke championship. Without Malzahn the entire team looks in total disarray just like the defense has all 4 yrs.

I would like for the barn to keep Chiz but the heat is turned up pretty high. I don't think he will be back next year unless he wins some important games and I don't see that happening. This barn team is awful.

So, here is a sampling of who the Aubs think they can hire to replace Chiznik:

Bobby Petrino
Jon Gruden
Jim Mora-UCLA HC (& born in LA)
Chip Kelley-Oregon HC (raised in New Hampshire)
Brian Kelley-Notre Dame HC (born & raised in Massachusetts & Catholic)
Gary Patterson-TCU HC (born & raised in Kansas, played @ K. State)
Pete Carroll-NFL HC
Gus Malzahn
Paul Rhoades-Iowa State HC (Iowa native)

Somehow they forgot to mention Bob Stoops, Nick Saban, Bill Belichick, Bill Cowher, and Vince Lombardi.

Well, any ideas on who they actually end up with?

The farmily is probably wishing they had us or LSU next week, someone who is supposed to beat them. Instead they have Vandy, the ream that every SEC team is expected to beat. But Vandy will surely beat them, heaping further indignities high atop the already moutainous pile. If the Chiz doesn't hit the fan this week. Can he possibly survive losing to Vandy after all this?

Petrino will take the Bill Clinton defense and tell the fambly that he was only trying to counsel that poor girl...then all will be well, and the barners will say Petrino is the savior they always needed and he is the Chosen One to beat the hated Tide.

I truly believe they are so deluded and are at such a low point that Petrino WILL be the coach.

And Dye will say that he has "counseled" Petrino and he is truly repentant, and will not ride motorcyles with blondes anymore (at least not in Lee Co).

It all be true!

I kinda believe this fiasco with Chiznik is going to cost Pay Dye a ton of credibility. There is NO doubt with me that he is the one responsible for getting Chiznik at Auburn. Plus, Malzahn will not want Dye hanging around the program, if they offer him the job. He will insisist that Dye disappear, sorta like Tuberville did.

Gimmick football seems to be the trend. Now, whether or not the barn is willing to take a leap that crazy far outside the mainstream remains to be seen.  IMO, it will excite a sidewalk fan base, but will fail in the SEC. Of course, these "high fliers" will fail come post-season crunch time, but I'm not sure many ADs are not merely "living in the moment". Dana Holgorsen does not make very much money at WVU.

I think they'll end up hiring Petrino.  I doubt many other major conference teams are going to be desperate enough to take a chance on him, and Auburn isn't going to find anyone else worth having who could potentially turn things around quickly.  Whether mama's will let their kids play for Petrino or not will be interesting to see.

Recruits mamas. aunties, or granmommas don't care who the coach is...all they are looking for is that pro contract for their "baby" that will bring them a new car, new house, and the AX platinum credit card..and that's a fact, Jack.

5 star recruits that don't have a good work ethic will look for the easier programs (GA, SC, Fla, TN, OM, MSU, heck, all of the SEC except BAMA). They know they might not get taken in the first 5 rounds, but $100,00 and a 2 yr contract is pie in the sky for them.

Every day I am thankful for CNS and what he has done for BAMA.

And I hope the trees die, the library burns down, Pat Dye is asked to stay forever, and they do get Bobby (A harley and a blonde, nice pair) for the coach, yella fella goes broke, and the entire female student body comes down with STDs..(the human girls, too), and all the goats suddenly go missing. Auburn should be listed in the dictionary as synonym for dirty ol' egg sucking dog.

If there is any doubt, yes, I do hate the barn...have since 1957.

The barners are starting to figure out how bad their team is this year. The same guy who told me last week the barn was the best 1-4 team in the country and they were a few plays from being 5-0 has seen the light. He told me last night the barn is one play from being 0-6. LOL

Here is a post that deserves some E-creds!
