Title: Andy Katz' VERY Early Basketball top 25 Post by: MDB Tide Roll on April 06, 2011, 11:33:43 AM Quote 20. Alabama The run to the NIT title game was no fluke. Alabama finished 12-4 in conference play and has the core of its team back with Tony Mitchell leading the charge for coach Anthony Grant. Arkansas brings in a top recruiting class and Mike Anderson will have the Hogs in the mix, but the SEC West has to run through Tuscaloosa for the foreseeable future. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/columns/story?columnist=katz_andy&id=6299371 Only other SEC teams included are Kentucky and Vanderbilt. They won the NC and until they are beat I think they should be ahead of everybody. RTR!

Title: Re: Andy Katz' VERY Early Basketball top 25 Post by: Marshal Dillon on April 06, 2011, 04:48:47 PM I think with the return of Greene, another year of experience for Mitchell, Hankerson, & Releford, the Tide can be a Top 15 team, easy. Plus, we have some very good talent coming in. This includes Randolph, who may provide us outside shooting, and Nick Jacobs to help inside. If Lacy commits to Bama, that will only help the outside shooting. I expect Releford and Mitchell to have a much improved shot from the outside, not just 3 point shots but the 14-17 foot jumper. This team definitely has the potential for, at least, an SEC Tourney Championship and a Sweet Sixteen. Of course, this adds more pressure on Coach Grant, but I don't think it bothers him.
