Post by: BAMADCHAMPSHIPS on October 27, 2012, 12:18:39 PM
It was nasty. Right knee was bending in the wrong direction. Hope he can recover quickly. :(

All fans get cheated when an athlete of that caliber is sidelined with an injury. Hate it for the young man, and the USCe fans.

This will be his second serious injury in two years. They use him too much plus he appears to be injury-prone. Not a good mix.

That just stinks for this young man. By all accounts, he seems to be an upstanding kid, and a heck'uva player. All I know is that I saw that knee bending in a way that no knee should ever bend, and my first thought was "Oh man, there goes his career." :(

That injury almost made me sick to my stomach :(
I hope he can come back but it looked really bad to me.

I heard it looked pretty gruesome but I have managed to avoid seeing it so far.  I had flipped the channel to another game when it happened so I missed it live.  Every time one of these networks starts the replay I change the channel.  It makes me sick how all of these networks play it over and over again.  I've seen gruesome injuries before, and when you are watching live you are going to see something like that every now and then.  But there is no need to show it dozens of times through out the day just for the shock value.  >:(  So I decided I am going to boycot the replays.

The injury was so gruesome looking, that at halftime they showed it just one time and the studio announcer said he appreciated the producer only showing it one time because he could not look at it anymore. I was watching the game and it was ugly.

 :(

I read an unofficial report that he sustained a broken femur and ligaments torn.

Prayers up for him the he can recover.

I finally saw it.  They sneaked it in at halftime and caught me off guard.  I will just say there is no doubt that his leg is broken and leave it at that.

Worst think I have ever seen as far as injury on a FB field.

I have my doubts that he will ever play again, but hopefully there will be a bright future ahead for him as he moves on after football.

I have never seen anything more gruesome or poignantly sad than Prothro's.

if his femur is broken it's over for him

I broke my right femur , a week in traction
30 days in the hospital and nearly a year to
walk again , unassisted .

as I set here with a heating pad on it right now I say ...

God Bless him
I would not wish that injury on anyone

You are right about a broken femur, but how old were you and what kind of physical condition were you in, not to mention the rehab facilities & personnel? It makes a big difference.

broke mine in the late 80's
but I've kept up with the treatments as they have changed over
the years .
they have made improvements for sure ... but a femur is a femur

I would love to have a dollar for every time ML will lay there and
say " WHY ME GOD" ! over the next few weeks ...

forgot the rest ...

I was 6'1" 212lbs.  and according to the doctors report ... Muscular  :lol2:
actually , I was in the best shape of my life .
Rehab sucks but I did it everyday and it still took me forever to get off
those dam crutches ...
then there's the goblins , we won't even go there  :wall:

Yeah, this was a close second though.  Very similar type of injury.  Players from both teams gathered around him on the field.  I hope he gets better surgery than Prothro.

Well I hope the best for him and his family. May Gods' Blessings be on them all. I hate to be the one to say it, but when I saw it I thought oh no another career down the tubes. I just hope I am wrong. RTR!
