Title: Injury Update on Lattimore-SIAP
Post by: Marshal Dillon on October 28, 2012, 03:25:33 PM
A better diagnosis than most of us thought.

Spurrier visited Lattimore on Sunday and said the junior had a good attitude about his condition. Spurrier said South Carolina team doctor Jeffrey Guy was able to put Lattimore's knee back in place soon after he was taken from the field to the hospital.

Spurrier said the injury was significant, but discounted speculation Lattimore never would play football again. Lattimore has not used a redshirt season so he could take as long as necessary to recover and still return to the Gamecocks for the 2014 season.

Yeah, reports all over the place about a broken femur and all ligaments torn. I hope he did just have a dislocated knee. If so, he can definitely play again.

I don't see how his leg could bend and flop the way it did without some broken bones.  :dunno:

Knee dislocation could explain that -- it was flopping around at the knee.

Good news for Lattimore.  A bad injury, but not career ending.  Hopefully he will take off next year and be 100% in 2014.  I'd hate to see him come back next year at less than 100%, like he tried to do this year.
