Title: Decatur Utilities Disaster Relief Post by: pmull on November 02, 2012, 04:06:58 PM The good folks at Decatur Utilities sent several teams to NY and NJ to help with the disaster relief. The unions blocked them from helping unless they got a union card. Don't that make you mad as hell. >:(

This country has become absolutely ridiculous. How did we go from the greatest civilization in the history of man to a bunch of lazy, selfish, arrogant, dishonest, self-absorbed, self-important, entitled, whiny pansies in a single generation? My grandparents were part of the "Greatest Generation". My children could be part of the "Last Generation". >:( >:( >:( >:( Title: Re: Decatur Utilities Disaster Relief Post by: SUPERCOACH on November 02, 2012, 05:19:24 PM I guess that makes me part of the "Pathetic Generation".

Don't that make you mad as hell. >:( I worked "scab labor" for International Paper in Mobile back in the 80s (oil price had dropped to $10 barrel). Retired supervisors returned to work to train the new guys while the union was locked out. Within a year these new hires had doubled production. Not busy at the moment with your specialty--grab a paint brush. A lightbulb burns out in your area,-- go get one. That mill had never seen an 8 hour shift (guys working to get ahead instead of just seniority) until they locked out the union. Title: Re: Decatur Utilities Disaster Relief Post by: pmull on November 02, 2012, 06:20:26 PM There was a time unions had a place and was needed. That was long ago. Today unions breed laziness. Auto manufacturers have moved to the south to avoid unions. Many companies have closed due to union employees. Unions protect bad employees and hold good employees back. I have no use for unions. Do you want to know how I really feel?

Do you want to know how I really feel? In the extreme, a company catches a union worker smoking dope and has to pay to send his sorry azz to pot rehab. >:( |
