Title: can't make mistakes
Post by: bamalum67 on November 11, 2012, 06:45:48 AM
A team cannot spot a team like aTm 3 td's, turn the ball over 3 times,
call pass plays against the strength of running, and expect to win.

Yes, we almost pulled it out...ALMOST...and that does'nt count.

With the bias against the SEC, I do not see us in the NCG again this year...and the team is not shaping up to be a threat next year..

oh, well, RTR anyway!

It took the entire first qtr and 20 points to make defensive ajustments. That surprised me. We turned the ball over thre times to none for A&M. We did not come close to getting a turnover. We did not nearly intercept a pass and I do not recall A&M putting the ball on the ground at all. Our turnovers led to 14 points. The last last turnover was on our 2 yd line.

We did not get any calls in the game. A&M get a questionable helment to the head call and we don't get anything on an obvious hit on Lacy. All 50/50 calls went A&M's way. I did not like the offsides call at the end of the game either. That could be called either way. What happened to home field advantage.

I'm not ready to give up on this year yet.  I think our chances are actually better than last year after the loss.  I will not be surprised if we climb back up to #2 by the end of the season.  What really burns me up about this situation is that I find myself staying up to all hours of the night rooting for a team like Cal to pull a big upset.

Oregon is going to have their hands full with a smash mouth team like Stanford, and they also have Oregon State.  Then they play the PAC-12 Championship game against either UCLA or USC again.

Kansas State still has to play Baylor and Texas.  Can we bring back RGIII?  Kansas State should take care of their business, but you never know.

Notre Dame is bound to lose eventually.  They have been scraping by for weeks now.  They still have to play USC.  There is a chance that we jump ahead of them even if they don't lose since we will have the show down with the top 5 Bulldogs for the SEC championship.

It will be interesting to see how the next 3 weeks unfold.  Too bad the 4 team playoff doesn't start this year.

The thing that concerns me more than whether or not we get in the game is whether or not we can win it if we do manage to get in it.  But the games is almost 2 months away, so maybe we can get things straightened out by then.

The 3rd down hit on AJ at the goal line was also an obvious helmet to helmet hit that was not called.  In fact he probably still had some cob webs on that 4th down interception play.

But I think I have figured something out on that rule:  they only call it when the hit is on a receiver.  I'm not sure if the rule is specifically for receivers only, but they never call it unless it is a receiver getting hit.

Right now I am worried about UGA. They are playing well and we are not. We have made the last two QB's we played look like Heisman Trophy candidates and we struggle to run the ball against the better teams.

It is hard to tell exactly where our team is at. We are 1 play away from remaining undefeated. We are also 1 play away from a 2 game losing streak.

Let's see! We have to rebuild an offensive line that loses, oh wait, only Barrett Jones. Brandon Ivory takes JWs position on DL. What else? Milliner goes out and John Fulton goes in?

LOL. Not only have you given up on this year (I say a rebuilding year) but you may be giving up on next year before it even starts. In CNS I trust. RTR

Right.  I get caught up in thinking about how we can make it to the game, but the truth is we are not playing very well right now.

One thing worries me..that CNS is getting tired of trying to build a program, and is simply relieved with a win, and takes a loss to heart too much...much like Lou Holtz said on the post game show.

I think he still has the fire..but recruiting the type players he wants wants for the "process", is getting harder every year.

I won't give up, but I will be realistic.

At least we ain't the barn!

You mean aside from quoting Lou Holtz?

Hang in there 67. It is what it is and that is 2 NCs in four seasons with a chance to play in a BCS Bowl and the NC. The sky is not falling but rather, in a game of inches, some of the breaks have not gone our way.

More than ever, they need to just focus on the moment. Western Carolina is no threat, but Auburn is. They have absolutely nothing in the world to live for except beating us. They have seen it can be done. They are riding a wave of optimism related to their new starting quarterback.

I can accept that we were a combination of tired, surprised, and playing down last Saturday. However, there is no excuse or adequate explanation for an Auburn win. None.

To read what some of you guys posted in this thread the sky is indeed falling.  Friends, Bama is still a good team.  They have just faced two VERY GOOD teams in a row that will bow up and hit you in the mouth on every play.  Bama still has a chance, small as it may be, to play for the BCSNC but it will take a lot of help from some teams that we normally wouldn't pull for.

I am not worried about playing in the BCSCG right now and I'm not worried about playing UGA either because we are not guaranteed to play either right now.  I, and I think CNS are more concerned about playing Western Carolina right now and after that Awbren.  Beat Awbren then I'll start being concerned about the Dawgs.  Keep the games in order my friends and trust in our team and coaches.

Roll Tide!
