Title: "Johnny Football" is For Real
Post by: Jamos on November 11, 2012, 06:47:51 AM
Wait a minute, there is no way that this white kid who can run a football like a waterbug can scoot on water and pass the football with the amazing accuracy of a military sharpshooter shooting his rifle, will ever come into Bryant denny and beat the #1 team in the nation. I for one thought the Bama defense could contain him and minimize his game production that he had displayed in other games this year, but was I ever wrong.

This young man is a rare spectacle in college football for some of us as most of the spectacular play makers in today's football world are African American and as they say in basketball, white boys can't jump. The last time that I witnessed someone with his skills was just a few years back when Auburn and Cam Newton paid a visit to Bryant Denny and trust me, I hate to use Newton as a comparison because of my love for Bama sports and my dislike for Auburn and the circumstances surrounding Newton, but facts are facts. Newton was a phenom and I thought it would be a very long time before I saw another player that could make those phenom type plays especially against a team that is as good as the Alabama team.

I take my hat off to Johnny Manziel and the Aggie team because they came into a very hostile environment at Bryant Denny and backed up their claim of being a very good football team. They beat Bama with a scatback quarterback that proved he is as good as everyone says he is.

The sun did rise this morning, but it doesn't seem as bright as it usually is and the coffee has a different taste, but the agony of this defeat will wear off soon as it usually does. I have to wonder what is in store for us SEC fans in the coming years, because"Johnny Football" is only a freshman and has at least two more years playing time. ;) Roll Tide!!

If I had a Heisman vote he would be on the ballot. Maybe at the top. The kid is good. I knew he could run. He is a better passer than I expected. A&M will be difficult to deal with as long as Manziel is there.

He has impressive stats. He is the reason behind TAMU success. He is not intimidated by BDS. But still, he played a mile above his head to beat BAMA, just like ZM tried to do.

He played an awesome football game. I think he completed 15 passes in a row and they weren't dink and dunk drop off passes either.  It's hard to complete 15 in a row with no defensive coverage.  His receivers were clutch too especially Swope.

A little off topic here but I think DB John Fulton played great late in the game. He and A&M's tall receiver had some good battles and Fulton won.

I, once ago, wrote posts in all caps. Then a girl sent me a PM and said that it indicated I was yelling. Are you yelling, Reel? HTH

BTW, I think CNS already knows how to stop JM. But having the team speed is another matter.

His ability to sramble out of the pocket running full speed and complete his passes was amazing. A couple of them was thrown across his body and completed and that is extremely hard to do.

Maybe he will flunk out of school, just teasing. :D

^^^This. I was one of the jaw droppers in the stands. Manziel was dead on most all night. The thing that impressed me was that the A&M receivers caught everything. EVERYTHING! No dropped passes. If they could get their fingers on it, they hauled it in, even after big hits. I couldn't believe what I witnessed in that game. Kudos and hats off to A&M. They were the better team Saturday and we still almost pulled it out.
