SEC has 6 of the top 12 spots of the BCS rankings. this includes 3 of the top 5. Bama has beaten 1 of the top 10 teams in the BCS rankings-- ND has beaten 2. But if Bama wins over UGA than they will have 2 wins over the top 10, including a top 3 team. Once again, as much as some hate it, the BCS has it right. But ND's best win was Oklahoma that just gave up 49 points to the #50 (or so) WVU. They also edged Michigan and Michigan St., two teams that would rather commit suicide than have to face BAMA again.

Now, lets get away from computers and polls. The discussion since the shake up has been Bama back in the BCSCG. The nation isn't even talking about the possibility of the Tide losing to AUB or UGA. But if the same scenario was presented to ND, who wants to say there would be no discussion of them losing at least 1, or maybe both (to AU and UGA)? JMHO

With Florida sitting at Number 4, the scenario not talked about is this:  If Florida wins and Notre Dame loses on Saturday, we could easily have two SEC teams in the BCSCG again.

(and if Florida, Oregon and KSU lose, could lead to Bama v. LSU again...)

On the BCS show last night they said Danny Sheridan had Bama a 10 point favorite over ND should they play in the championship game. They also said all the SEC teams in the top 10 would be favored over ND.

Barkley will not play for USC this week, so Notre Dame has a much easier path now.  They should win unless they just choke under the pressur of being so close to a national championship.

I will be somewhat surprised if Florida wins against Florida State.  Florida is really struggling right now.  Florida State has a chip on their shoulder and is excited about the opportunity to beat the tar out of a highly ranked SEC team.

I would not be surprised if Oregon loses to Oregon State.  I would not be surprised if Kansas State loses to Texas.  I expect LSU to beat Arkansas pretty handily.

So... it looks like it will probably be the SEC champ (aka Bama) against Notre Dame, but if Notre Dame loses, Bama vs. LSU is a very real possibility.

Well SC I like this picture you painted here. I will however have to disagree with you on FSU vs Fla. I think with the defense Fla has they can beat FSU.
I know it is possible but I would not want to play a mad LSU team again this year.
I guess I see ND beating USCw because I would love to see us in a NCG against ND. RTR!

Alot of ground to cover here, so let's get started. ND luck will get them past USC.  BTW, I really appreciate you joining my "bring on Notre Dame" train somewhere around when ND was ranked 20th. Since you were running the poll, they somehow jumped from 20 to 11 (LOL). I guess it was the impressive way they edged by Mich and Mich St. But after all the hard work you and I have done to get Notre Dame served up on a crimson platter, I'm now not sure that playing LSU instead might rub the rest of the country's collective faces in it! It at least deserves discussion.

???   8) (this is a cool discussion to be able to have-- picking who/whom we want to slaughter in the BCSNCG)

I would like another shot at Johnny Football, but that is a super long shot.  No way LSU loses, AND all of those other things happen too.

Hey Sc one thing I have found out about college football for sure: those super long shots happen real often if your not careful. rofl, RTR!

I actually hope the Golden Dumbers win this weekend. I'm like WV, I want a shot at those jokers so Bama can hopefully take about 50 years of frustration out on them (yes, I know we won in '86 because I was there, but this would be MUCH sweeter).

Now that would tidy up a few lose ends from the regular season, now wouldn't it?

Indeed.  To bad lowly Arkansas is a key cog in this scenario.

Of course I would be thrilled to play an extremely overrated Notre Dame team, so I hope they can manage to beat USC.

Luck of the Irish already working for them (Barkley out). I guess USC is relying on the first time starter/freshman QB. But this is what I've been pulling for all season. Hopefully they'll deplete their stockpile of luck getting to the BCSNCG. BAMA 45-3

Man, I would feel so much better to have auburn and georgia in our rear view window, but we don't and I for some reason, just can not get to hyper on the BCSNCG. Am I right or wrong you think? RTR!

The barn stinks and if we lose to them we deserve all the ridicule that we will certainly receive. UGA on the other hand can be very good. Clowney plays like there are three of him out there. He is everywhere, and he will blow up everything we do on offense unless we game plan for him. They can also be pretty mediocre.

The only solace i can take is that we played our worst game of the year against LSU and won. I think our okay game beats their okay game, and maybe even their very good. I don't think our okay game beats their best game.

??? ???

Clowney plays for USCe.  HTH.
