Title: Alabama wide receivers stepping out of Julio Jones' shadow
Post by: Terrie1959 on April 12, 2011, 02:38:22 PM
For three seasons, Julio Jones was the face of the Alabama receiving corps, providing a big target, rock-solid blocking, and an imposing physical presence at the position.

Jones is gone now, and there's a healthy blend of new and old players vying to take their spot in the limelight.

Returning starters Darius Hanks and Marquis Maze each have plenty of experience. Hanks was the breakout star of Alabama's second scrimmage, recording 6 catches for 131 yards and 3 TDs.

I think Maze and Hanks will take care of business this year. I wonder who will be a breakout receiver, White, Gibson, Norwood, someone else?

I think a mix of the experienced and the new blood will bode well for the Tide this year.

There are a lot of WRs wanting to post their name on the front line and I think Alabama will be great this year. RTR!
