I think we all figured it was much like this. I always thought Chiznik came across kinda smug & arrogant and this article backed up that observation. The academic problems and everyone knowing about the problems was somewhat of a surprise. Scab was told all of this stuff when Newton was there but refused to print anything negative about the barn.

It would be fascinating to find out what they don't want leaked to the media. I wish somebody down there would spill all the beans. Indeed. These are not confessionals. They are offered to shore up support for adminstration's decision to let the coach go, and to dump all the dirty laundry in his lap as he's heading out the door. Too much of that and the spurned coach may spill some beans. Though it sounds like Chiz' ego may be better served by preserving the illusion of his National Championship than by telling the true story of how it happened. I'm sure that a condition of his buyout is to keep his mouth shut, so I doubt he will be talking much about what went on, at least for now. These are the kind of situations that can really set a program back several years, even if the NCAA doesn't get involved. Hopefully this means about, oh, 10 or so straight wins over the barn.
