Title: Everyone Seems To Be Picking Georgia Post by: crtuneman on November 30, 2012, 09:05:55 AM Listened to Lee Stirling this morning and he picked Ga to win 27-24. Most other pundits are picking Ga. I am starting to feel better about this game because, looking statistically, Bama is the better team. Bama has the #2 run defense in the nation, Ga is at #67. Bama is the #5 pass defense, Ga is at #9. But the biggest thing is ints. Bama has forced 16 ints, which is not great but is better than Ga, which has only forced 10. Offensively, Ga & Bama are equal. Their passing stats and rushing stats are virtually identical. I feel like Bama will be able to run the ball on Ga whereas Ga will not be able to run on Bama. The biggest question is who will be able to pressure the QB and which QB will handle said pressure better. But I think Bama will be motivated and hungry, and will play mistake-free. I'm ready for a huge victory. Roll Tide!
Title: Re: Everyone Seems To Be Picking Georgia Post by: SUPERCOACH on November 30, 2012, 09:13:26 AM Several of the ESPN guys picked Bama yesterday. I think there is a 0% chance that we come out flat. We will bring our A game. If they beat us they are going to have to earn it, and if they earn it they deserve it. It should be a fun game to watch.
Title: Re: Everyone Seems To Be Picking Georgia Post by: pmull on November 30, 2012, 09:23:48 AM UGA has the experts confused. It is hard to tell how much they have improved since the first half of the season because they have not played anyone. They look good in the last few games but so did Miss State when they played the weak part of their schedule. Early in the year UGA almost got beat by Missou, Kentucky and Tenn. USCe blew them out.
I agree with SC that Bama will not come out flat. Getting a pass rush on Murray will be the key to this game. If we do that we win easily. If not it will be a close game. Title: Re: Everyone Seems To Be Picking Georgia Post by: crtuneman on November 30, 2012, 09:44:25 AM I have been reading things that make me think Murray may come out tight Saturday. I hope he does. He hasn't played well in the big games so far. Hope that trend continues.
Title: Re: Everyone Seems To Be Picking Georgia Post by: Marshal Dillon on November 30, 2012, 10:02:41 AM Georgia is toast. I expect a very physical game by the Tide, something Richt is not known for.
31-17 Tide :popcorn2: Title: Re: Everyone Seems To Be Picking Georgia Post by: SUPERCOACH on November 30, 2012, 10:07:35 AM Of course anything can happen, but I have a feeling that Georgia is going to get exposed and it will become obvious that they only made it to the game because of a weak schedule. The only 2 good teams they played were USC and UF, and they split those games. They were blown out by USC, and they didn't really beat UF, UF self destructed.
Title: Re: Everyone Seems To Be Picking Georgia Post by: hscoach on November 30, 2012, 10:39:02 AM Those teams that give them trouble have a better pass rush than Bama has shown. I think people, and I am worried also, at the lack of pass rush in games such as LSU and T A&M.

I think people, and I am worried also, at the lack of pass rush in games such as LSU and T A&M. I am worried about putting pressure on Murray. Of course UGA is concerned about their pass protection since it is the weakness of their offense. If we win this battle we win the game. Title: Re: Everyone Seems To Be Picking Georgia Post by: hscoach on November 30, 2012, 10:57:44 AM I am really not sure how bad their pass protection is, the teams USC and LSU, last year, had good pass rushers.
Title: Re: Everyone Seems To Be Picking Georgia Post by: #1Tidefan on November 30, 2012, 11:11:09 AM Not my ole friend 'Leonard Post toasties' (in his honor, I wrote this one up in lovin memory)
Leonard's Losers... Alabama vs Georgia Nick Saban's crimson clad warriors roll into Atlanta to do battle with the Georgia's junkyard dawgs who will be all dressed fit to kill come Saturday. The hounds are not favored in this one, so Mark Richt has ordered all chains to be off the leash come game time. The Tide has a pudgy pachyderm by the name of Jesse Williams clogging the middle on defense which might present a puzzle to some Red clay hounds, but my 'smart pill machine' tells me to beware of a lone dawg named Murray, who could just aggravate a Packyderms backside. But I think after the dust settles, those Razor-sharp tusks will have done their damage... Leonards Loser...Georgia by 17 Aight Percy Peabody...get me outta here. We got more prognosticatin to do boy! Title: Re: Everyone Seems To Be Picking Georgia Post by: SUPERCOACH on November 30, 2012, 11:14:15 AM I am really not sure how bad their pass protection is, the teams USC and LSU, last year, had good pass rushers. The left side of their O-line has some issues. Put Hubbard on that side and see what happens. I don't hate Ga. all that much but the Tide looked unbeatable almost all season. Ga. never really did. I live 65 miles from Athens and dawg fans all share my thoughts. Looking forward to seeing the Crimson Tide stomp the living chit outta Notre Dame. 8) Title: Re: Everyone Seems To Be Picking Georgia Post by: #1Tidefan on November 30, 2012, 11:19:19 AM As a Carolina (USCe) alum x 2 and a watcher of a 35-7(7 late, very late ) whipping, Alabama will beat 'em dawgs by at least three tds. Every bowl projection I have seen has us in the BCS CG and UGA in the Capital One.

Pollard is our freshman basketball player.

I can not wait. Title: Re: Everyone Seems To Be Picking Georgia Post by: pmull on November 30, 2012, 03:54:00 PM We need to make sure we are hating on the right former UGA player it is David Pollack. And who the heck is Lee Stirling? ??? Lee Stirling is a national bettor who has a website for gamblers. He isn't always right but he's right a lot of the time. He comes on the Finebaum show and the morning show in Mtgy. Also many of the locals (al.com, montgomery advertiser) are picking Ga. I think most that pick Ga are doing so because of their recent defensive success. ALthough, as has been pointed out, their schedule the last few weeks has been wretched. Of course, they did put a significant beat-down on the national powerhouse of Auburn, so there is that. Trevor Mattich saif UGA would have more spectacular plays, but Bama makes the more important plays to win. Some goofball said Bama would have a hard time without Kenny Bell. Umm, excuse me, does the name Amari Cooper mean anything to you, genius? 1) Protect AJ 2) Contain Jarvis Jones 3) At least hurry AM often enough to keep him unsettled Bama does this and it's a blowout. Herbstreit said UGA will play out of their mind for the first quarter and hang around for 3 1/2 quarters, but Bama will be too much in the end. Bama should win this game without too much trouble. The only way we lose is if we come out flat and loaf around and don't play our best. In a game this important, and with the close call in the BCS they had after the loss, there is no way that is going to happen. |
