He is expected to be formally introduced at a Wednesday press conference in Fayetteville. Bielema went 68-24 as coach of the Badgers. Under his tutelage, Wisconsin has won three consecutive Big Ten championships, including a 70-31 win over Nebraska in the league's title game last Saturday. His teams recorded at least 10 wins four times and will appear in their third consecutive Rose Bowl next month. Bielema, 42, played college football at Iowa and began his assistant coaching career there in 1994. That timing amounts to a huge snub on the Rose Bowl and Big 10. But i guess recruiting is of paramount importance and you can't piss away a month waiting for the Rose Bowl.

They went after Les Miles and Gundy, maybe others I don't know about. Bielema is a proven head coach. It appears to be a good hire. Time will tell how well he will do in the SEC West. Things will be different than the Big 10.

He complained so much about the SEC and how CUM brought that to the Big 10, and now he is going to be able to get his butt kicked every week by the SEC instead of just once a year or so. He likes to run the football & play smash mouth football. :popcorn2: Bingo! Wisconsin plays physcial run the ball and stop the run football. The SEC just takes it to a higher level than the Big 10. I think he was a good fit for Arkansas but in the end only time will tell how he does. The SEC West is more difficult than ever. Even the Mississippi schools are playing pretty good ball.
