Post by: Marshal Dillon on December 04, 2012, 04:01:06 PM
Interesting read.

Under this prediction, Tide guard Chance Warmack would go fourth to Philadelphia, while Detroit would use the 10th pick on cornerback Dee Milliner. After that, offensive tackle D.J. Fluker to Chicago at No. 25, center Barrett Jones to Green Bay at No. 26 and noseguard Jesse Williams to San Francisco at No. 27.

I hope all the seniors get drafted high. Milliner and Fluker will be first round picks so you can not blame them for entering the draft. My concern is Mosley and Lacy. They are projected in the 2nd round. I hope they both stay for their senior years.

Looks like A&M had some talent on their team. Next year will be interesting... :popcorn2:

Five first rounders for Bama isn't bad, in an off year with a young team.   ;)

I knew the Aggies had talent on offensive line, didn't realize their defensive line also had that level of talent, although they were able to go toe-to-toe in the trenches so it makes sense.  Losing all those linemen definitely should prove an interesting year for the Aggies next year.

I think CJM stays. He needs to be every down LB. Lacey I could see going.

Lacey I could see going.
I agree especially if he has a good NC game.
Roll Tide!

I believe Lacy will go because of the injuries possibility. I also say that I think we hang on to CJ and man our LB's position will be some kind of great next year. RTR!

CNS has said before that unless a third year player is projecting into the first round he strongly recommends that they stay for their fourth year.  Whether or not they will listen to him when they see the immediate money potential remains to be seen.

I thought the decision to go or remain has to be made before our game. As to Lacy, his Bama career has included those nagging, slow healing injuries like turf toe or high ankle sprains that can only be resolved by an extended period of rest/rehab. NFL scouts have to be sceptical, or maybe optimistic, as to his potential. But even if he runs for 500 yds. after contact he is not going 1st round. As much as I love his style and appreciate his dedication and fierocity, I can't help but wonder if his declaring eligible for the draft will not alleviate the bottle neck of RBs. On the one hand, we lose a RB with the potential to run for 2,000 yds next season. On the other hand, we clear the deck for 2 or 3 healthy young studs with 1,000 yd. season potentials. All we can really do is pray that the people around him give him guidance purely upon what is in his best interest!

I don't know how much more Lacy could improve his draft stock.  If Bama loses three offensive linemen as first round draft picks, blocking might not be as good next year.  We've seen other RBs come back only to see their numbers go down.  And, RBs are more prone to injury than other positions and have some of the shortest NFL careers.  So if he decides to go, even outside of the first round, it probably makes some sense.
