Title: Auburn's Gus Malzahn releases Chizik's assistants Post by: Jamos on December 05, 2012, 07:13:16 PM Newly-hired Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn released Gene Chizik's staff late Wednesday afternoon and told them that he planned to hire a new staff, beginning with the offensive and defensive coordinators.
The meeting was brief. It will be easier to start with a new staff since they need a complete overhaul from the ground up. They better get a grip with the disapline issues quick.
I though the barn may ask him to keep some assistants to avoid the buyout. I also thought he might keep some offensive assistants since he hired most of them with Chiz's help four years ago.
