Title: Tide returns to work this week for BCS game Post by: pmull on December 15, 2012, 01:48:47 PM Quote The Crimson Tide will return to practice Tuesday afternoon in preparation for the BCS National Championship Game on Jan. 7 in Miami. Alabama’s players haven’t gotten a complete break from work. Since beating Georgia 32-28 in the SEC Championship Game on Dec. 1, they’ve done some conditioning and strength work, but this is the first time on the field since that night. Head coach Nick Saban has said he treats a bowl as a one-game season. That means the first few practices are like preseason camp, in which the players do a lot of fundamental work, along with football conditioning. http://blogs.tennesseevalleynow.com/bamablog/2012/12/15/tide-returns-to-work-this-week-for-bcs-game/ Title: Re: Tide returns to work this week for BCS game Post by: ricky023 on December 16, 2012, 08:34:35 AM #+ pmull, great read. It just thrills me how CNS knows how and to practice. He has a reason for every little thing he does. Nothing is thrown out whim. I hope we get some practice reports. RTR!

The practices this week before the players take a three day Christmas break will be going back to the basics and fundamentals. The first team players and key back ups will practice as normal. The reserves and redshirts that do not get much if any time during the season will get a lot of work this week. School is out so the coaches are not limited to a certain practice time. This week will be similar to spring training for those young guys. This is the valuable practice time bowl games offer. After Christmas the staff will begin putting in the ND game plan prior to leaving for Miami on Jan 2.
