Title: Luke Del Rio
Post by: hscoach on December 17, 2012, 11:02:36 AM
Does anyone have any info on this young man?  ESPN says he will walk on to Bama rather than take scholarship offers at other schools.

He was committed to Oklahoma State until the assistant took the Southern Miss job. He also had offers from UCLA, Oregon State and Colorado State. He was an Elite Eleven finalist. He looks like a good prospect for a walk-on.

He looks good to be a 3 star. He is former Jax head coach, Jack Del Rio's son.

He is listed as a 3 star but elevated his status with a good performance at the Elite Eleven. His dad was the head coach at Jax. He is now the DC at Denver.

Jack Del Rio was a LB.  Luke appears to be a hard working athlete with a good head on his shoulders -- a great addition for Bama.

As a senior this season, Del Rio lead Valor Christian in Littleton, Colorado to a 12-2 record and a state championship, passing for 2,275 yards and 28 touchdowns with just 4 interceptions
With those stats I wonder if he isn't somehow related to another pretty good qb.  One named A.J. McCarron?  ;)
